Language defaults
Organization settings → Translation sets, for each language, how AI writes, translates and narrates in it. Owners and admins edit the defaults; editors can read them. Languages that have defaults are marked customized in the Language list.
Step by step
- Open Translation in Organization settings.
- Choose the Language to customize.
- Set the Form of address, Button and menu names and Default voice, and add Writing instructions if needed.
- Under Glossary, select Add term for each term. Leave Translation empty to keep a term as written.
- Select Save language defaults. The language is now marked customized in the list.
- Translate a demo into the language, or generate its AI copy again, and check the result.
What each default changes
| Default | Applies to |
|---|---|
| Form of address | AI copy written in the language and translations into it |
| Writing instructions | AI copy written in the language and translations into it |
| Button and menu names | Translations into the language |
| Glossary | Translations into the language |
| Default voice | Narration in the language, unless the demo chooses its own voice for the language |
AI copy means step text from Generate with AI and the recorders, and quiz questions. Translations cover demos and training course details.
Changes apply to content generated afterwards. Existing copy, translations and voiceovers keep their text and audio until you generate them again.
Button and menu names
Screenshots stay in the language they were captured in, so a translated step that says "Click Speichern" next to a button labelled Save confuses viewers. Keep the original writes on-screen names exactly as the main language does; Original with translation adds the translation in parentheses. Keep Translate them for languages in which your product's own interface is available and you recorded the demo in that language.
Glossary
Each row tells translations into the language how to render a term. Leave Translation empty to keep a term as written, such as a product or feature name. The AI applies the glossary while it translates, so a term also adapts to grammar, plurals and case; it is not a search-and-replace. Each term can appear once per language, regardless of case, and a language holds up to 100 terms.
The glossary changes text. To change only how voices say a term, use the pronunciation dictionary.
Writing instructions
Up to 1,000 characters of extra guidance, such as tone, spelling variants or date formats. The AI follows them unless they conflict with its fixed rules, which keep step order, placeholders such as {{company}}, button links and quiz answers intact.
Default voice
The voice list follows your AI voice model under Settings → AI text, translation & voiceovers: OpenAI voices, or ElevenLabs voices including your organization's cloned voices. A demo's own choice for a language in Voice settings wins over the default.
