Creating demos
Upload screenshots or photos, take a screenshot or photo in the app, record with the website or browser recorder, or import a document.
- Create a demo in your workspace and add images in the editor, or use Import for a PDF, PowerPoint (.pptx) or demo backup (.demo).
- Add instructions and clickable hotspots in the editor. Cover sensitive details.
- Preview the complete demo, then publish to get a public link.
PDF pages and PowerPoint slides become static images that you can add instructions and hotspots to. Imports stay private drafts until you publish.
The browser recorder for Chrome and Firefox captures screenshots and clicks as you work.
- Install the recorder from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons, then pair it with a token from Settings for the organization that should receive the demo.
- Describe the workflow, choose the demo language and record the task.
- Send the recording to your workspace. Review the screenshots, text and hotspots in the editor.
Recording creates a private draft. Publish only after checking it.
The camera recorder turns photos or short clips of a real task into slides. You explain each step out loud, and it writes the title and instruction from what you said.
- On your phone or tablet, open your workspace and choose Create demo, then Capture and Camera recorder. Allow access to the camera and microphone. In an open demo, Add slide offers the camera recorder too.
- Take a photo, or switch to Video and film a clip of up to 30 seconds. Clips have no sound. Adjust the framing, and add more photos or clips to the same step when one view is not enough.
- Start recording and explain the step in your own words, for up to 90 seconds. You can also record while the camera is open, or choose Skip recording and type the text.
- Under Details, check the suggested title and instruction, and choose a voiceover if you want one: My voice or AI voice. Review the slide, then choose Add slide and next for the next step.
Filler words and repetitions are removed, and nothing is added. Turn off Improve wording in Speech settings to keep exactly what you said. Slides are saved to your private draft. Choose Back to editor to cover sensitive details, translate or publish.
Generate a new token in Settings under Browser recorder, paste it into the extension and select Save connection.
- Tokens are revoked when you generate a new one, change your password or role, or leave the organization.
- Recordings go to the organization selected when you generated the token. Switch organization before generating it if the demo belongs elsewhere.
Use solid covers in the image editor for confidential information. Blur only obscures it visually.
- Covers are baked into published images. Originals remain in your private draft.
- Masked input videos are published as protected still images, not playable videos.
Check every screenshot and written instruction before publishing. Republish to update an already shared demo.
Check Auto-continue in the editor’s Settings and each slide’s Animation & timing.
- Older demos created without this setting advance on their own until you untick Auto-continue by default.
- Automatic advance waits for the voiceover to finish, so a long narration keeps a step on screen longer than its timing.
Yes, for 30 days.
- Open the Trash filter in My demos and select Restore.
- Restored demos stay unpublished until you publish them again.
Publishing & sharing
Review lets another owner or administrator check your saved draft.
- Open Review in the editor. Your changes are saved first.
- Choose a reviewer, add an optional note, then select Request review.
- The reviewer receives an email when delivery is available. You can also copy and share the private link. They sign in, preview the draft, then approve it or request changes.
You can cancel a pending request and choose a different reviewer. Approval is optional unless required for publishing. Further edits need a new review.
Autosave updates your private draft. Shared links and embeds show the published version.
- Preview your changes and publish again to update the same public link and embeds.
- PDF, PowerPoint and video exports also use the published version. Download a new export after republishing; old files do not update.
Only members of your organization.
- Public links, embeds, demo hubs, training courses and exports always use the published version.
Check that the demo is published and not in the trash, then review its Access settings: password, allowed emails or domains, and expiry date.
- Viewers restricted by email must use an allowed address and open the one-time link within 15 minutes. Addresses that are not allowed receive no email.
- After Replace the share link, the old link and existing embeds stop working.
- For embeds, the host page’s Content Security Policy must allow your Demo-Creator address in script-src and frame-src.
Exports use the published version. In Share & export, choose the main language or a published translation before downloading.
- PDF exports contain static screenshots, instructions, opening and closing screens, and quiz questions. Clickable steps, playable narration and quiz scoring stay in the interactive demo.
- PowerPoint exports contain slide images, with titles, instructions and narration scripts in speaker notes. Slide text and hotspots are embedded in each image.
- Video exports play the slides in order with their timing and any generated narration. Video export availability and file format depend on your browser.
- Share the demo link alongside a file when readers also need clickable steps, audio or assessments.
Custom domains are available on plans that include them.
- As an organization owner or admin, open Organization, then Custom domain.
- Enter your domain and add the exact DNS records shown.
- Complete verification and wait for activation before using the new links.
Existing main-domain links remain valid. No DNS password or API key is needed.
AI & languages
Set the demo languages in the editor and review each translation before sharing.
- Open Languages, set the main language and choose the target languages.
- Generate the selected translations and open each language in the editor to review the wording before publishing.
- Publish again to update an already shared demo.
Translation covers demo and quiz text, not text inside screenshots. If translation on publish is enabled, missing or outdated translations are generated during publication. The interface language changes app menus only.
Check your verified email, organization permissions, trial status and available AI usage in Billing.
- Verify your email and confirm that your organization role allows editing.
- Trials have a one-time AI allowance. Free and paid plans include monthly usage. Owners can select Increase Usage in Billing to buy more; trials must subscribe first.
- If your organization uses its own AI provider key, check the key in AI settings.
If AI is still unavailable, contact us.
Generating all voiceovers keeps clips that already exist. Replace a clip individually to change its settings.
- Select the step and language, then remove its current audio.
- Update the script, voice or speed and generate the voiceover again.
- Preview the new clip, then publish to update the shared demo.
Regenerating an unchanged voiceover reuses the saved audio at no extra cost. A new script, voice or speed uses your AI allowance.
Training & quizzes
Training courses record progress and quiz results for learners who sign in through the separate learner sign-in.
- Learners sign in with their email, or Google when enabled, without joining your editing workspace.
- Without signing in, progress stays in the current browser. Signed-in progress is saved to the learner account and can be resumed on another device.
- Owners and admins can assign training, set deadlines and reminders, and review Results. Reports include assigned learners who have not started, as well as learners who sign in and begin independently.
- Public demo analytics count anonymous player sessions. They do not identify people or prove that someone completed training.
Single-choice, multiple-choice and text questions can be scored automatically when you configure correct answers and enable correction. Answers can also be graded manually.
- Text answers must match an accepted answer, ignoring capitalization and surrounding spaces. Multiple-choice answers must select exactly the correct choices; there is no partial credit.
- Editors, admins and owners can grade answers and add feedback. Training results remain awaiting review until grading is complete, then use the course pass mark.
- Standalone quiz results are kept separately from training progress. Use a training course to link results to named learners.
- A quiz checks answers to the questions you set. It does not certify practical competence or replace required training.
Account & billing
Features depend on the selected organization, your role, your plan and your account. Check them in this order:
- The organization selected in the sidebar. Demos, permissions and plan features belong to it.
- Your role. Viewers cannot edit. Demo hubs, training courses, branding and members need an owner or admin.
- Your plan. Quizzes, training, custom domains, SSO, directory integration and branding removal depend on it.
- Your email. Unverified accounts keep guest limits and cannot use AI.
Administrators can also turn off features such as registration, guest workspaces, AI, recording or publishing for the whole installation.
Check your spam folder, then request a new link.
- Verification, sign-in and recovery links expire after a short time. Open them in the browser where you requested them.
- Invitations, review requests and certificates also show a link you can copy and send yourself.
If no email arrives at all, email delivery may not be configured for your installation. Ask your administrator.
Copy it with a demo backup. The copy starts unpublished with a new link, and the original stays where it is.
- In the editor, open Settings, then Export & sharing, and select Export demo backup.
- Switch to the other organization in the sidebar.
- Choose Create demo, then Import and Import from Backup, and select the file.
Your workspace, demos and published links stay available. AI features pause and free-tier limits apply until you subscribe.
- During the trial, AI features use a one-time trial allowance that does not renew.
- Subscribe from Billing before or after the trial ends to restore monthly AI usage and the features of your plan.
Plans, AI usage and billing history belong to the selected organization.
- Choose the correct organization in the sidebar and open its plan and billing page.
- As an owner, manage the subscription or choose a plan. Use Manage subscription to open the billing portal for an existing subscription.
- Download available invoices and receipts under Invoices & payments.
If you can’t see these controls, ask your organization owner.
