Ways to create a demo
Choose a method
| Your material or situation | Use |
|---|---|
A web app you are signed in to, an intranet, a VPN-only tool or localhost | Browser recorder |
| A desktop application | Browser recorder → desktop capture |
| A public website, without installing anything | Website recorder |
| A hands-on task away from a screen: a machine, a lab, a shop floor | Camera recorder on a phone |
| Screenshots, photos, a PDF or a PowerPoint deck you already have | Images, PDF and PowerPoint |
| A demo exported from another organization or installation | Demo backup |
The recorders write step titles and descriptions for you; imports give you bare slides to annotate. One demo can mix sources, so you can record most of a workflow and add a PDF page or a photo later. Options your account or installation cannot use are hidden.
Screen format
Choose the format that matches what you capture: Horizontal (16:9) for desktop software and websites, Vertical (9:16) for phone screens and portrait photos, Match the presentation for PowerPoint decks. Every slide is cropped to the format. You can switch later, including to 2:1, 16:10, 4:3 or 1:1, but each crop then needs checking; originals are kept.
Add slides to an existing demo
Add slide in the editor offers the same capture and import sources, plus Add title slide for a section heading and Add quiz slide for a question. Captures and imports are added at the end of the demo; the camera recorder inserts after the selected slide. Reorder slides afterwards in the slide list.
Everything you create or import stays a private draft until you publish it.
