Media, text and annotations

Besides its screenshot, a slide can hold up to 20 extra elements, including up to 8 images: text, images, videos, arrows and highlighters. Add them from the canvas toolbar (Add media, Add text, More tools) and select one to show its options.

What to know about elements

  • Elements belong to the slide, so they show on every step of that slide.
  • Text elements are translated with the demo; text inside inserted images is not.
  • A video can start on its own or on click, and loop or play once. Videos on a slide with privacy covers are published as still images; see Hide sensitive information.
  • Add link turns any element into a link to an https:// or http:// page, which opens in a new tab. Clicks are reported in link performance.

Edit a photo or screenshot

Edit photo in a slide's ⋯ menu crops, rotates, zooms and adjusts the contrast of the slide image, with simple filters. The original image is always kept in your draft, so you can re-crop later without loss. The editor applies the same crop to every step of the slide.

Step media from the camera recorder

Slides from the camera recorder can hold several photos and clips. Step media in the Step panel shows or hides each one and reframes or trims it. At least one photo or video must stay visible.

Change the demo's aspect ratio

Settings → Aspect ratio crops every screenshot to the new shape. Originals are kept, but the automatic crop centers each image, so check slides where the important part is near an edge and adjust them in the photo editor.
