Version history and backups
Version history
Version history in the editor's top bar keeps the draft as it was before each of the last 20 saves. Restoring one makes it the current draft and saves a new version, so you can return to the state before the restore. The published demo does not change until you publish again.
Every autosave counts as a save, so during an active editing session the history may reach back only a few minutes. Before a large change you may want to undo later, such as re-recording or re-translating, export a backup.
Demo backups
A demo backup is a single .demo file with the complete draft: slides, steps, translations, voiceovers, music and settings. Export it with Settings → Export & sharing → Export demo backup, and import it with Create demo → Import → Import from Backup.
- Importing always creates a new private demo in the selected organization; it never overwrites an existing one.
- The import has no link, analytics, review history or comments; those stay with the original.
- Imported demos keep their own design. Apply the new organization's look with Apply organization defaults in Demo settings.
Use backups to move a demo between organizations or installations, or to archive a version outside Demo-Creator.
