Camera recorder

The camera recorder turns photos or short clips of a real task into slides. You explain each step out loud, and Demo-Creator writes the title and instruction from what you said. Use it on a phone or tablet wherever a task happens away from a screen: a shop floor, a laboratory, a service visit.

Open it with Create demo → Capture → Camera recorder, or Add slide → Camera recorder in an existing demo. The recorder guides you through each step; the points below are what it does not tell you.

Before the first capture

The gear next to Capture a step sets the Aspect ratio and the Main language you will speak. Both are fixed after the first capture, so check them first.

Capturing a step

  • Clips last up to 30 seconds and are silent. Your explanation is recorded separately, for up to 90 seconds.
  • Record comment while the camera is open captures the picture and the explanation together.
  • Explain the step as you would to a colleague standing next to you: what to do, where, and what to check. Improve wording (on by default) removes filler words and repetitions without adding content; turn it off to keep exactly what you said.
  • Add another photo or video? keeps extra views of the same step. Items marked Hidden stay in your draft as backups but are not published.

Voiceover choice

  • My voice uses your recorded explanation as the slide's audio. It costs no AI usage, but it exists in your spoken language only.
  • AI voice reads the description with the demo's voice, generated when you save the slide. It uses AI usage, and can be regenerated after you edit the text or for each translation.
  • None leaves the slide silent.

Continue later

Every saved slide is in your private draft immediately. New slides are inserted after the slide selected in the editor, in the order you capture them; with the opening or closing screen selected, they go at the end.

If you leave before saving a step, the editor offers Continue to pick it up where you left it. The unfinished step stays private until you save it.

Privacy masks on videos

Videos with privacy masks are published and exported as protected still images. Cover sensitive details in the editor before publishing.
