Hide sensitive information

Screenshots often contain names, email addresses, customer data or credentials. Draw a Cover or Blur region over them in the canvas toolbar before you publish. Regions belong to the slide, so they hide the area on every step of it.

Solid covers and blur

MethodEffect in the published demoUse for
Solid coverThe pixels are permanently replaced in the published images.Passwords, personal data, anything confidential
BlurThe details are softened but can sometimes still be guessed.Visual noise, non-sensitive distractions
Use solid covers for sensitive information

Blur only obscures content visually. For anything confidential, use a solid cover.

Covers and blur are baked into the published images and exports. The original screenshots stay in your private draft, so you can move or remove regions later and republish.

Videos with covers

A video cannot be partly covered while it plays. When a slide with a video (a browser-recorder input clip or a camera-recorder video) has privacy regions, the video is published and exported as a protected still image instead. The original video stays private in your draft.

Before you publish

  • Check every screenshot, including the opening and closing screens. Recorders mask detected passwords, but not names, emails or other data.
  • Replacing a screenshot clears its covers; redraw them.
  • Text you type in step descriptions, narration scripts and translations is published as written.
  • If a demo is already shared, Update live demo to replace the published images. Files that were already downloaded (PDF, PowerPoint, video) cannot be recalled.
