Publish and update
Publishing copies your current draft to the published version used by links, embeds, demo hubs, courses and exports. The first Publish creates the link and opens Share & export.
If the demo requires approval, publishing waits until the current draft is approved.
Update a published demo
When the draft has Unpublished changes, Update live demo replaces the published version. The link and every embed stay the same, so there is nothing to resend. Viewers who already have the demo open keep the old version until they reload.
To share the current live version without publishing your unfinished edits, use Share live version.
PDF, PowerPoint and video files that were already downloaded do not change. Download a new export after republishing.
Auto-translate on publish
With Auto-translate on publish enabled, publishing first updates missing and outdated translations. If translation continues in the background or is cancelled, the demo is not published; apply the translations and publish again.
Unpublish
Settings → Export & sharing → Unpublish demo stops the link and embeds immediately. The draft is kept, and publishing again reopens the same link. The demo also disappears from demo hubs while unpublished. Moving a demo to the trash stops its link as well.
Publish a demo used in a training course
When a demo is a lesson in a training course and learners have saved progress, publishing asks how to treat that progress:
- Changes to slides or quizzes require retraining: learners restart the lesson, and their earlier results stay in history.
- Changes to the demo's title, introduction or branding keep progress. Require retraining even for cosmetic changes restarts the lesson anyway.
