Website recorder
The website recorder opens a website inside Demo-Creator, in a browser session on the server, and records the clicks you make there. Nothing needs to be installed. Each click becomes a step with a screenshot of the page before the click and a hotspot where you clicked.
Because the session runs on the server, it reaches only public websites and apps you can sign in to from anywhere. For sites behind a VPN, on your own computer, or that need your existing browser logins, use the browser recorder.
Record
Open it with Create demo → Capture → Website recorder, or Add slide → Capture → Record website clicks in the editor. Choose Desktop or Mobile as the Website view before you open the address; it decides the screenshot size.
- Browsing does not record anything until you select Start recording. Use Stop recording around anything that should not become a step, such as signing in, then start again.
- Only clicks add steps. Typing, scrolling and page loads do not, so type into fields before the click that submits them.
- To leave the website with the keyboard, press Escape, then Tab.
- PDF links open in a built-in reader, so you can record a walkthrough of a PDF too.
The session ends when you finish or cancel, and after 20 minutes. Its temporary login cookies are then deleted.
Review the captions
After Finish, AI writes a Caption title and Description for each click from the screenshot, the visible page text and the earlier captions. Remove clicks you do not need before adding the steps; everything is added to the demo as one change you can undo. If you stop the AI, the captions written so far are kept and Retry with AI completes the rest.
AI receives the screenshots, the visible page or PDF text and the earlier captions. Caption generation counts toward your organization's monthly AI allowance, or uses your personal provider key on plans that allow it.
Limitations
- A recording holds up to the demo's step limit. When it is full, select Finish to review.
- Websites reachable only on private networks are blocked unless your platform administrator has approved them.
- Review every screenshot for personal or confidential information and cover it before publishing.
