Learner portal
Owners and admins. The learner portal is one link for your organization's learners. Turn it on in Training courses → Learner portal. Signed-in learners see:
- every course assigned to them or that they started, with its status and due date, their own courses first;
- their certificates from all your courses;
- the courses you list in the catalog.
Visitors who have not signed in see only the catalog.
The catalog
A course appears in the catalog when Show in the learner portal catalog is on in its Settings tab and the course is published; the setting is part of the course draft. Anyone with the portal link can see and start a listed course, so list only courses meant for everyone with the link, or protect them as described under Access.
Assigned learners see their courses whether listed or not.
Sign-in
Learners sign in with an email link or with Google, as on a course page. The portal and the course pages share the sign-in: signing in on one signs in on all of them, and Sign out signs out of all of them. While the portal is on, course pages link back to it with All my courses.
Access
- A course's own access protection still applies when a learner opens it from the portal.
- A learner whose assignment came from a Google Group they have left no longer sees that course.
- Turning the portal off disables its link. Turning it on again restores the same link.
