Looking for a Tango alternative? What to compare before you switch
Tango makes capturing a workflow fast, and its free plan is a good way to try it. Teams often compare alternatives when the whole workspace has to move to paid seats, when guides are needed in other languages, or when they want to check what people learned.
What to compare in an alternative
- Who counts as a paying user: every member, every editor, or the organization as a whole.
- Which plan includes translation, and whether each language needs its own recording.
- Whether you can check understanding with quizzes and certificates, or only publish guides.
- Which formats you can share: link, embed, PDF, slides or video.
- Where content is hosted, and whether you can protect a link with a password, an expiry date or an email list.
Example: five people creating guides
- Tango
- $100 per month, or $75 per month billed yearly
- Demo-Creator
- USD 29 per month for the whole organization
Per-seat prices look small for one person and add up with every colleague who creates or edits guides. Demo-Creator charges the organization once, so the price stays the same for five people or fifty.
When Demo-Creator is the better fit
- Up to 10 people create guides. One organization price covers every member, so adding editors does not raise the bill.
- You explain the same process in several languages. Translations and voiceovers belong to one demo instead of separate recordings.
- You need to train people, not only inform them. Courses add quizzes, assignments, due dates, progress reports and verifiable certificates.
- You share in more than one format. The same demo works as a link, an embed, a PDF manual, a PowerPoint deck or a video.
- Data location matters. The hosted service runs in the EU and is operated from Switzerland, without advertising trackers.
When Tango is the better fit
- You want step-by-step guidance on top of other web apps; Pro includes on-screen guidance for workspace members.
- You need Guide Me, Pins or automations, which are part of Enterprise.
- Only one or two people create guides, so the Pro plan for 1–2 users is enough.
Moving your existing guides
Re-record the processes people use most with the browser recorder; it is usually faster than fixing old screenshots. For the rest, export each guide as a PDF where your plan allows it and import the PDF into Demo-Creator: each page becomes a slide you can annotate, translate and narrate.
Questions
Is Demo-Creator cheaper than Tango?
For growing teams it usually is. Tango Pro Team costs $15 per user per month billed yearly, and every member of the workspace is upgraded, so five people pay $75 per month. Demo-Creator charges one organization price for up to 10 members on Plus.
Can I move my Tango workflows to Demo-Creator?
There is no direct import. Re-record your most-used workflows with the browser recorder, or export them as PDFs on a Tango Pro plan and import the PDFs into Demo-Creator.
Do people viewing a Demo-Creator demo need an account?
No. Published demos open in the browser without an account or extension. You can add a password or an expiry date, or limit a link to listed email addresses and domains.
Can I try Demo-Creator before paying?
Yes. Start on the Free plan, or start the Plus trial without a credit card. Nothing is deleted when the trial ends; AI features pause and Free limits apply until you subscribe.
